In this project we use Triac (Triode AC Switch) to control the brightness of the AC bulb with a IR TV Remote. You can also control Fan speed with your TV remote using this Triac Dimmer circuit.

But IR remote has some limitations like low range and it only works in Line of Sight etc. So these limitations can be overcome by converting the IR signal into RF signal. RF signal does not required line of sight and have much better and long range then IR remote.

Emergency light is an integral part of household electronics nowadays. We all know Emergency light is used during the power failure to light up the home. As it is used during the power failure, it should last long, hence generally bright white LEDs are used in emergency light, because they produce more light and consume less power.

IR Transmitter and receiver are used to control any device wirelessly, means remotely. TV remote and TV are the best example of IR transmitter and receiver. TV generally consist TSOP1738 as the IR receiver, which senses modulated IR pulses and convert them into electrical signal.
